Mom-made Goods: That’s Adorable!
Local mom Beth Schwartz recently took over downtown Eau Claire’s longest-running kid’s consignment shop, That’s Adorable! (129 N. Barstow St.), and she’s excited about making a few changes. Beth says the shop will maintain its stock of consignment goods—though pared down and reorganized—so you’ll still find plenty of gently-used clothing for girls and boys (birth–size 14/16), accessories, and a small selection of children’s books. But now you’ll also find a wider selection of handmade items, crafted and produced by Chippewa Valley moms. With three kids of her own, Beth naturally relates to local mothers trying to supplement their family’s income by selling homemade goods, and she hopes her shop can help.
Beth is glad to field inquiries from interested sellers, but she’s selective about what products make it into onto the shelf. One such product is a reusable zippered snack bag made by a local mom who brands them under the name “Lavender’s Green.” The water resistant bags are available in three sizes—from snack-to gallon-size, and there are many colors and designs to choose from (with new ones always on the way). The handy bags are made with a cotton exterior and a (food safe) nylon lining, making them incredibly easy to clean: simply wipe them with a damp rag or, for larger messes, throw them in the washer/dryer. And with the standard sandwich-size bag (6”x7”) priced at only $7, they are affordable too.
Shops like That’s Adorable! have always been a great way to save money on kids’ stuff, and now you can spend less while supporting local mothers. Find That’s Adorable! on Facebook.
